Screening for Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism is the act of using another person's work, including ideas, processes, results, data, or words, without proper permission, acknowledgment, credit, or citation. Jurnal Mega Inovasi Ekonomi (JUMIE) strongly opposes all forms of plagiarism and unethical academic practices. Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original works, have not been previously published, and are not under consideration by any other journal.

Jurnal Mega Inovasi Ekonomi (JUMIE) considers plagiarism a serious violation of publication ethics and reserves the right to take appropriate action against authors who are found to have committed plagiarism or related misconduct. Authors are encouraged to use plagiarism detection software to evaluate the similarity index of their manuscripts before submission for review or publication.

Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Mega Inovasi Ekonomi (JUMIE) will undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin before being processed further by the editorial team.

The following types of plagiarism are of particular concern to Jurnal Mega Inovasi Ekonomi (JUMIE):

1. Full Plagiarism
The use of all or a substantial portion of previously published content without significant modification to the text, ideas, or structure. This includes presenting another person's work as one's own.

2. Partial Plagiarism
The use of materials from various sources with only minor modifications to wording or sentence structure without providing proper citation and acknowledgment of the original sources.

3. Self-Plagiarism
The reuse of all or part of an author's previously published work without proper disclosure or citation. Self-plagiarism also includes the republication of the same or substantially similar article in another journal.

If evidence of plagiarism is identified by editors, reviewers, or other parties at any stage of the publication process—before acceptance, during editorial processing, or at the proofreading stage—the editor will contact the author and request revisions through rewriting, paraphrasing, or the addition of appropriate citations to the original sources.

Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 25% may be rejected for publication. Such decisions will be communicated formally to the author(s).

If plagiarism is discovered after publication, Jurnal Mega Inovasi Ekonomi (JUMIE) will conduct an investigation in accordance with established publication ethics guidelines. If plagiarism is confirmed, the journal reserves the right to contact the author's affiliated institution and/or relevant funding agencies. Articles proven to contain plagiarism may be marked accordingly in the electronic publication (PDF), and depending on the severity of the violation, the article may be formally retracted from the journal.
