Abstrak

Pendidikan lingkungan sejak usia dini merupakan salah satu upaya strategis untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan membentuk karakter peduli lingkungan pada peserta didik. Namun, pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar mengenai organisme perairan, khususnya plankton dan tanaman air, masih relatif rendah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran lingkungan siswa melalui edukasi mengenai peran plankton dan tanaman air dalam menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem perairan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 12 Juni 2026 di SD 3 Tambun, Tolitoli, Sulawesi Tengah, dengan melibatkan 19 siswa. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah interaktif, penyampaian materi menggunakan media visual, diskusi, tanya jawab, serta kuis edukatif. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test sederhana yang didukung dengan observasi terhadap partisipasi siswa selama kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa mengenai pengertian dan jenis plankton, fungsi plankton dalam rantai makanan, serta peran tanaman air dalam menjaga kualitas ekosistem perairan. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan tingkat partisipasi yang tinggi selama diskusi dan memiliki kesadaran yang lebih baik terhadap pentingnya menjaga kebersihan lingkungan perairan. Penggunaan media visual dan metode pembelajaran interaktif terbukti mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa serta mempermudah pemahaman terhadap konsep-konsep yang bersifat abstrak. Dengan demikian, kegiatan edukasi ini efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi lingkungan siswa sekolah dasar dan berpotensi menjadi model pembelajaran kontekstual untuk menumbuhkan kepedulian terhadap kelestarian ekosistem perairan sejak usia dini.
